Is this the same as a motion-sensor floodlight?
No. This is app-controlled light. You set it to turn on each evening, or you trigger it by hand. It works on top of any motion lights you already have.
Can I turn it on remotely if I am away?
Yes. The app lets you turn your security lighting on or off from anywhere, and set it to run on its own every night - handy with a sunset before five through winter.
